I run 350 to 450 PSI, dialed to your carpet, and bring the heat up for fibers like nylon that can take it, since heat breaks down the oils holding dirt in place. Too little and the clean is shallow. Too much on the wrong fiber and you risk damage. Getting that balance right is the difference between carpet that looks clean and carpet that’s clean down to the base.
